Mojitomojito

Equipment:

  • A muddler (or rolling pin)
  • A spoon
  • A long glass/collins glass

Ingredients:

  • 2 shots of white rum (Bacardi Carta Blanca/Captian Morgan white rum etc.)
  • ½ fresh lime
  • 12 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 heaped bar spoons of caster sugar (to taste)
  • Soda water
  • Cubed ice
  • Crushed ice (if accesible)
  • To Garnish: Sprig of Fresh Mint

Method:

1. Put the four lime wedges into a glass, then add the sugar and muddle (squish everything together) to release the lime juice

2. Put the mint leaves on one hand and clap, this bruises the leaves and releases the aroma,  and drop them in. Use a muddler or bar spoon  to gently push the mint down into the lime juice

3. Half fill the glass with crushed ice and pour in the white rum. Stir the mix together until the sugar dissolves

4. Top up with crushed ice and soda water and garnish it with a sprig of mint

 

Frozen strawberry daiquiri

Equipment:Frozen strawberry daiquiri

  • A blender
  • A margarita or daiquiri or goblet glass

Ingredients:

  • 2 shots of white rum
  • 2 teaspoons of caster sugar
  • Cubed ice
  • Half a pack of strawberries 
  • Juice of half a lime
  • To garnish: a strawberry

Method:

1. Place all the ingredients into the blender with a handful of ice and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into the glass, garnish with a fresh strawberry

 

Eldeflower Champagne Cocktailelderflower-fizz

(serves 8)

Equipment:

  • Bottle of Brut champagne or dry sparkling wine
  • chilled 1 cup of elderflower liqueur, like St. Germain
  • 1 can of club soda or seltzer water
  • chilled 1 cup sliced strawberries

Method:

1. In a large pitcher, combine all of the ingredients and stir

2. Add ice

3. Pour into glasses filled with ice and scoop a few strawberries into each glass

 

Bourbon Old Fashionedbourbon-old-fashioned

Equipment:

  • 2 shots of Bourbon
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 1 splash water
  • Orange peel

Method:

1. Place the sugar in a rocks glass

2. Add the bitters and a dash of water, then muddle into a paste

3. Place one large ice cube or several smaller cubes into the glass

4. Add the Bourbon and stir smoothly until the sugar has dissolved

5. Peel an orange rind and kiss the rim with it, before placing it in the glass

 

Porn Star Martini

Equipment:

  • 1.5 passion fruit
  • 2 shots of vanilla vodka
  • 0.5 shot of Passoa liqueur
  • 0.5 shot of vanilla sugar syrup
  • 0.5 shot of squeezed lime juice
  • 2 shots of champagne or fizzy wine

Method:

1. Wash and cut passion fruit in half

2. Scoop out the seeds and flesh into shaker (keep last passion fruit for garnish)

3.  Add the vanilla vodka, Passoa liqueur, vanilla sugar syrup and lime juice

4. Shake  with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass

5. Pour champagne into a chilled shot glass to serve on the side

6. Garnish: float the half flesh passion fruit

 

Passion Fruit Mojitopassion-fruit-mojito

Equipment:

  • 3 shots of dark rum
  • 1 tsp Muscovado sugar
  • 6 lime wedges
  • 10-12 mint leaves
  • 1 shot of passion-fruit puree
  • crushed ice (or cubed ice)
  • soda water

Method:

1. Put the lime wedges into a glass, then add the sugar and muddle (squish everything together) to release the lime juice

2. Put the mint leaves on one hand and clap, this bruises the leaves and releases the aroma,  and drop them in. Use a muddler or bar spoon  to gently push the mint down into the lime juice

3. Half fill the glass with crushed ice and pour in the dark rum and passion-fruit puree. Stir the mix together until the sugar dissolves

4. Top up with crushed ice and soda water
